Possible Causes
Failed position microswitch or encoder on valve, Misaligned cam gear, Broken switch wiring harness, Worn AquaHouse rotor/cam assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and place the bypass in BYPASS before opening the control head. Residual pressure may be present.
Step-by-step:
- 1. Remove control cover: Access the cam/rotor and position switch or encoder assembly.
- 2. Inspect switch alignment: Ensure the position switch or encoder wheel is correctly aligned with the cam notches or magnets. Adjust mounting screws if it has shifted.
- 3. Check wiring: Follow the small harness from the switch/encoder to the PCB. Look for broken conductors or loose connectors and reseat them.
- 4. Manually index valve: Using the manual advance knob, rotate the valve to the SERVICE position. Restore power and see if the controller now recognizes the correct position.
- 5. Replace faulty parts: If the controller cannot detect positions, replace the AquaHouse position switch/encoder assembly. If the cam teeth are worn or stripped, replace the rotor/cam kit as well.
