Possible Causes
Blocked drain line, Kinked or undersized drain hose, Closed or restricted house plumbing downstream, Clogged AquaHouse drain flow control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Place the unit in BYPASS and unplug it before disconnecting the drain line. Expect water discharge when opening the drain connection.
Step-by-step:
- 1. Inspect drain hose: Follow the drain line from the control valve to the drain point. Straighten any kinks and ensure the hose is not submerged in standing water.
- 2. Check drain termination: Make sure the drain is not blocked (floor drain, standpipe, or sump). Clear any obstructions.
- 3. Clean drain flow control: At the control valve drain port, remove the drain elbow or fitting. Inside is often a small flow control orifice. Rinse it under water and remove any debris or iron buildup.
- 4. Verify hose size and length: Ensure the drain hose diameter and run length meet AquaHouse specifications. Excessive length or elevation can cause backpressure.
- 5. Test regeneration: Reconnect the drain, return to SERVICE, restore power, and run a manual regeneration. Observe the drain flow; it should be strong and steady without surging.
