Possible Causes
Stuck brine valve in open position, Leaking brine valve seat, Clogged brine line preventing draw but allowing refill, Faulty brine float assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Place the softener in BYPASS and unplug power. Be prepared to remove excess brine to prevent overflow damage.
Steps to correct overfill:
- 1. Remove excess brine: Use a wet/dry vacuum or bucket to remove water down to normal level.
- 2. Inspect float assembly: Remove and test the Aquasana brine float; ensure it shuts off water flow when lifted. Replace if it does not seal.
- 3. Check brine line and injector: Clean the injector and ensure the brine line is clear so that brine can be drawn out during regeneration.
- 4. Inspect brine valve: Internal brine valve components in the control head may be leaking. Replace the brine valve assembly if overfill recurs.
