Possible Causes
Defective turbine meter in Aquasana control head, Meter cable disconnected, Debris in meter housing, Control board metering circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Place the unit in BYPASS and unplug power before removing any covers.
Steps to troubleshoot E6 (metering):
- 1. Confirm symptom: Check if the display’s gallon counter remains at zero even when water is used, or if it jumps erratically.
- 2. Inspect meter assembly: Remove the control head cover. Locate the turbine meter on the outlet side of the Aquasana valve. Remove it carefully and inspect for sand, iron, or scale buildup.
- 3. Clean turbine: Rinse the turbine and housing under running water. Ensure the turbine spins freely with a gentle puff of air.
- 4. Check wiring: Verify the meter sensor cable is firmly connected to the control board and not damaged.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the meter, restore water, and run water at a faucet while watching the display to confirm the meter counts.
- 6. Replace if needed: If the meter still does not register flow, replace the outlet turbine meter assembly. If a new meter does not resolve the issue, the control board may be defective.
