Possible Causes

Clogged sediment pre-filter, Fouled resin bed with iron or sediment, Partially closed bypass or shutoff valves, Debris in Aquasana control valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off water and relieve pressure before opening any housings.

Steps to restore flow:

  • 1. Check pre-filters: Replace Aquasana sediment and carbon pre-filter cartridges if they are overdue or visibly dirty.
  • 2. Verify valves: Ensure the bypass valve is fully in SERVICE position and that inlet/outlet shutoff valves are fully open.
  • 3. Backwash resin bed: Manually initiate a regeneration and allow full backwash and rinse cycles to complete. This can flush out trapped sediment.
  • 4. Inspect for iron fouling: If water contains iron, perform a resin cleaning with an approved cleaner.
  • 5. If flow remains low: The resin bed may be severely fouled or the control valve partially blocked. A technician may need to rebed the resin or service the valve.
