Possible Causes
Cracked brine tank, Loose brine line fitting at tank or control head, Damaged brine float assembly O-rings, Overfilled brine tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Place the softener in BYPASS and unplug power. Salt water can damage floors; contain spills promptly.
Steps to repair brine leaks:
- 1. Inspect brine tank: Look for visible cracks or splits in the Aquasana brine tank body, especially near the bottom and fittings.
- 2. Check brine line fittings: Tighten compression or push-fit connections at both the brine tank and control head. Replace any cracked ferrules or fittings.
- 3. Inspect float assembly: Remove the brine well cover and lift out the float assembly. Check O-rings and seals; replace if worn.
- 4. Avoid overfilling: Maintain salt below the top of the brine well and do not overfill with water.
- 5. Replace tank if needed: If the brine tank is cracked, replace the Aquasana brine tank assembly.
