Possible Causes
Failed drive motor, Stripped cam gear, Jammed rotor disc, Broken motor harness connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the inlet valve. Relieve pressure by opening a faucet.
- Listen for motor operation: Restore power briefly and start a manual regeneration. If you do not hear the AquaSoft valve motor running or feel vibration at the control head, the motor may be faulty.
- Inspect drive assembly: Remove the control head cover. Locate the small drive motor and cam gear assembly. Check for broken teeth, loose mounting screws, or foreign objects jamming the cam.
- Check wiring: Verify the motor harness is fully seated on both the motor and the control board. Look for damaged insulation or corrosion.
- Manually index valve: With power off, use the manual advance knob (if equipped) to rotate the valve through its positions. If it binds or will not turn, the rotor disc or seals may be swollen or obstructed and need replacement.
- Replace faulty parts: If the motor does not run when powered and wiring is intact, replace the AquaSoft valve drive motor. If the cam gear is stripped, replace the cam/gear kit.
