Possible Causes

Loose brine line connection, Cracked brine tubing, Air leak at brine well, Clogged brine check valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the inlet valve.

  • Inspect brine tubing: Follow the brine line from the control head to the brine well. Look for cracks, pinholes, or kinks. Replace any damaged tubing with AquaSoft-compatible brine line.
  • Check fittings: Ensure all compression or push-fit connections are tight. Reseat them if necessary and confirm O-rings are present and undamaged.
  • Examine brine check valve: At the end of the brine line in the brine well, remove the check valve/foot valve. Clean any salt or debris and verify the check ball moves freely and seals properly. Replace if worn.
  • Seal brine well: Make sure the brine well cap is properly installed and that any grommets or seals where the tubing enters are intact to prevent air leaks.
  • Test brine draw: Restore water and power, start a manual regeneration, and observe the brine level. It should steadily drop during the brine draw stage. If E09 returns, further diagnosis of the valve body may be required.
