Possible Causes
Dirty salt sensor probes, Sensor not submerged due to bridging, Disconnected sensor harness, Failed salt level module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working inside the brine tank.
- Check salt level: Open the brine tank and verify that there is adequate salt. Break up any salt bridge and remove hardened salt as needed.
- Clean sensor: Locate the AquaSoft salt level sensor (often mounted on the side of the brine well or tank). Gently clean the probes with warm water and a soft cloth to remove salt crust.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor cable to the control head. Ensure the connector is fully seated and the cable is not damaged.
- Reposition sensor: Confirm the sensor is mounted at the correct height and orientation per the manual so it can accurately detect salt presence.
- Replace sensor: If E12 persists after cleaning and verifying salt level, replace the salt level sensor module.
