Possible Causes
High water pressure, Rapid valve closing, Loose plumbing supports, Air in lines
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use caution when adjusting pressure regulators. If unsure, contact a plumber.
- Check water pressure: Use a pressure gauge on a nearby faucet. If pressure exceeds 80 psi, install or adjust a pressure-reducing valve.
- Secure plumbing: Inspect pipes near the AquaSoft unit and secure any loose sections with proper clamps or straps.
- Slowly open valves: Ensure inlet and outlet valves are fully open but opened slowly after service to minimize air and shock.
- Install water hammer arrestors: If banging persists, have a plumber install water hammer arrestors near the softener or problem fixtures.
