Softener is very noisy during regeneration, with loud banging or knocking sounds in the pipes.

Safety first: Use caution when adjusting pressure regulators. If unsure, contact a plumber.

• Check water pressure: Use a pressure gauge on a nearby faucet. If pressure exceeds 80 psi, install or adjust a pressure-reducing valve.
• Secure plumbing: Inspect pipes near the AquaSoft unit and secure any loose sections with proper clamps or straps.
• Slowly open valves: Ensure inlet and outlet valves are fully open but opened slowly after service to minimize air and shock.
• Install water hammer arrestors: If banging persists, have a plumber install water hammer arrestors near the softener or problem fixtures.
