Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If a leak is suspected, close the main water supply to prevent damage. Use caution when inspecting around electrical outlets or appliances near water.
Step-by-step:
- Check for real leaks: Walk through the home and listen for running water at toilets, faucets, and appliances. Inspect visible plumbing for drips or wet spots.
- Use bypass test: Place the AquaUnique softener in BYPASS. If the flow indication on the display stops, the leak is likely in the softener or its connections. If it continues, the leak is in house plumbing.
- Inspect flow sensor: If no leak is found, remove and clean the turbine flow sensor as described for E05. Ensure no debris is causing false rotation.
- Reset alarm: After correcting any issues, clear the alarm from the control panel and monitor for recurrence.
When to call a technician: If E14 persists with no actual flow and a clean sensor, the control board or sensor may need replacement.
