Possible Causes

Household water pressure above AquaUnique specification, Failed internal pressure sensor, Missing or failed external pressure regulator, Sudden pressure spikes from well pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: High water pressure can cause leaks or burst components. If pressure is suspected to be very high, close the main valve and relieve pressure slowly at a faucet.

Step-by-step:

  • Measure pressure: Attach a pressure gauge to a nearby hose bib or faucet and record static pressure. AquaUnique softeners typically require < 80 psi.
  • Install/adjust regulator: If pressure is above spec, install or adjust a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) on the main line.
  • Check for surges: On well systems, verify that the pressure switch and tank are functioning correctly and not causing extreme spikes.
  • Reset alarm: Once pressure is within range, clear E15 and monitor operation.

When to call a technician: If pressure is normal but E15 persists, the internal pressure sensor or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
