Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: High water pressure can cause leaks or burst components. If pressure is suspected to be very high, close the main valve and relieve pressure slowly at a faucet.
Step-by-step:
- Measure pressure: Attach a pressure gauge to a nearby hose bib or faucet and record static pressure. AquaUnique softeners typically require < 80 psi.
- Install/adjust regulator: If pressure is above spec, install or adjust a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) on the main line.
- Check for surges: On well systems, verify that the pressure switch and tank are functioning correctly and not causing extreme spikes.
- Reset alarm: Once pressure is within range, clear E15 and monitor operation.
When to call a technician: If pressure is normal but E15 persists, the internal pressure sensor or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
