Salt Bridging
Salt bridges form in the brine tank, leaving a hollow space under a hard crust of salt

Possible Causes
High humidity installation location, Use of pellet salt prone to bridging, Overfilling brine tank with salt, Infrequent manual agitation of salt
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Wear gloves and eye protection. Do not strike the tank aggressively, as it may crack.
Step-by-step:
- Identify bridge: Push a broom handle gently into the salt. If it suddenly drops into an empty space, a bridge is present.
- Break the bridge: Carefully poke and stir the salt to break up the crust, allowing it to fall into the water below.
- Remove excess salt: Scoop out very old or mushy salt and dispose of it. Refill with fresh salt to the recommended level (usually below the top of the brine well).
- Improve conditions: If possible, reduce humidity or use a different salt type recommended by AquaUnique.
When to call a technician: Normally not required; however, if the tank is cracked or fittings are damaged during cleaning, professional replacement is needed.
