Possible Causes
Blocked brine refill orifice, Defective brine fill valve in valve head, Brine line kinked or disconnected, Safety float stuck in closed position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close inlet valve before working on brine components.
- Check brine level: After a full regeneration, the brine tank should contain some water. If it is dry, proceed with checks.
- Inspect brine line: Ensure the brine hose from the valve head to the brine well is not kinked or disconnected.
- Check safety float: Remove the brine well cover and verify that the float is not stuck in the up position. Clean and free it if necessary.
- Clean refill orifice: At the valve head, locate the brine refill orifice or restrictor and clean it of any debris or scale.
- Test refill stage: Start a manual regeneration and observe the brine fill stage. If no water enters the tank despite clear lines, the brine fill valve in the valve head may be defective and require replacement.
