Possible Causes
Blocked inlet filter screen, Fouled resin bed causing high pressure loss, Partially closed inlet/outlet valves, Undersized plumbing or bypass
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Close isolation valves and relieve pressure before removing filters or opening the valve head.
- Compare flows: Bypass the softener temporarily using the bypass valve. If flow improves significantly, the restriction is within the BWT Perla.
- Clean inlet filter: Remove and rinse the inlet mesh filter screen to clear debris.
- Check valves: Ensure inlet, outlet, and bypass valves are in the correct positions and fully open where required.
- Resin condition: If the resin bed is fouled with iron or sediment, it can cause high pressure loss. Consider resin cleaning or replacement.
- Check plumbing size: Verify that the connected piping matches the BWT Perla connection size to avoid bottlenecks.
