BWT Perla emits a musty or unpleasant odor from the brine tank

Safety first: Disconnect power. Wear gloves when handling contaminated brine or sludge.

• Empty brine tank: Scoop out salt and pump or bail out remaining brine into suitable containers for disposal according to local regulations.
• Clean tank: Wash the inside of the brine tank with warm water and a mild household disinfectant. Rinse thoroughly to remove residues.
• Clean brine well and float: Remove and clean the brine well, float assembly, and brine line connections.
• Refill with clean salt: Use only high-purity tablet salt recommended by BWT.
• Optional disinfection: Some systems allow resin disinfection using approved agents; consult the BWT manual or a technician.
