Possible Causes
Insufficient rinse time, High drain restriction reducing rinse flow, Incorrect cycle programming, Brine valve not closing fully
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not drink water that tastes strongly of salt. Use an alternative source until the issue is resolved.
- Check drain line: Ensure the drain hose is not restricted or elevated too high, which can reduce rinse flow.
- Verify cycle times: In the installer menu, confirm that the fast rinse/backwash times are set to factory defaults or longer, not shorter.
- Run extra rinse: Manually start an additional regeneration and extend the rinse phase if possible to flush residual brine.
- Inspect brine valve: If brine continues to be drawn or leak into the service position, the brine valve or seal pack may be leaking and the valve head should be serviced or replaced.
