Possible Causes
Raw water hardness set too high, Capacity set too low, Leak or continuous flow downstream, Flow meter misreading high consumption
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No disassembly is required for parameter checks.
- Verify hardness setting: Compare the programmed raw water hardness with a recent water analysis or hardness test. Reduce the setting if it is higher than actual.
- Check capacity and safety reserve: In the installer menu, adjust the capacity and safety reserve according to BWT guidelines for your household size.
- Look for leaks: Check for continuously running toilets, dripping taps, or leaks that could cause constant flow through the softener.
- Check flow meter: With all taps closed, confirm that the display shows zero flow. If not, the flow meter may be faulty and should be inspected or replaced.
