Possible Causes
Faulty brine level float switch, Stuck float due to salt bridging, Damaged float switch wiring, Incorrect mounting height of float assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Avoid leaning heavily on the brine tank walls; they may deform.
- Access float switch: Open the brine tank lid and remove the brine well cover. Locate the float switch assembly (often integrated with the safety float).
- Check float movement: Manually move the float up and down. It should move freely without sticking. Break up any salt crusts or bridges around the float tube.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the float switch cable to the control board. Look for corrosion at connectors or damaged insulation. Reseat the connector.
- Verify mounting height: Ensure the float assembly is seated fully at the bottom of the brine well and not hanging at an incorrect height, which can cause false readings.
- Test switch continuity: With a multimeter (if you are qualified), test the float switch contacts while moving the float. Replace the float switch assembly if it does not change state.
