Possible Causes
Damaged membrane keypad, Loose ribbon cable between display and main PCB, Moisture ingress behind display, Defective user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the BWT Perla from mains power before removing the front cover.
- Inspect front panel: Check for visible cracks, water stains, or signs of impact on the display and keypad area.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the front cover to access the user interface board. Ensure the flat ribbon cable is fully inserted and locked into its connector on both the display and main PCB.
- Dry moisture: If condensation or water is present, gently dry the area and allow several hours for complete drying before reapplying power.
- Test keypad: After reassembly, reconnect power and test all buttons. If the display lights but buttons still do not respond and E10 remains, the keypad or UI board is likely defective.
- Replace UI module: Replace the complete user interface module (display + keypad) with a BWT Perla compatible part.
