Possible Causes
Defective RTC circuit on main PCB, Failed backup battery or supercapacitor, Frequent power interruptions, Incorrect time/date configuration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the control compartment.
- Check power stability: Ensure the BWT Perla is connected to a stable mains outlet, not a switched socket that is turned off nightly.
- Verify time settings: Re-enter the correct time, date, and hardness settings according to the user manual. Observe whether they are retained after a short power loss.
- Inspect backup component: On some boards, a small battery or supercapacitor maintains memory. If visibly swollen or corroded, the main PCB may require replacement (these components are usually not user-serviceable).
- Use surge protection: Consider installing a surge-protected outlet to reduce stress on the electronics.
- Replace main PCB: If E11 persists and settings are lost repeatedly, replace the main control board with the correct BWT Perla spare.
