Possible Causes

Valve not reaching positions due to mechanical jam, Insufficient water pressure during regeneration, Blocked drain or brine line slowing flow, Incorrect cycle time parameters

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and close isolation valves before mechanical work.

  • Check water pressure: Verify that inlet pressure meets BWT Perla specifications. Low pressure can extend regeneration steps beyond allowed time.
  • Inspect valve movement: Start a manual regeneration and observe whether the valve motor moves smoothly through all positions. If it stalls, refer to valve positioning fault procedures (similar to E04).
  • Check drain and brine lines: Ensure both lines are free of blockages and correctly routed to allow proper flow rates.
  • Verify programming: In the installer menu, confirm that regeneration step times are set to factory defaults unless specifically adjusted by a technician.
  • Service valve head: If mechanical resistance is felt or the motor overheats, the valve head may need cleaning or replacement.
