Possible Causes
Open tap or leaking fixture downstream, Leaking toilet or safety valve, Faulty flow meter misreading, Incorrect leak detection threshold settings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you suspect a major leak, close the main water supply immediately.
- Check for running water: Ensure all taps are closed. Listen for running water at toilets, safety valves, or appliances.
- Inspect for visible leaks: Walk through the property and look for damp areas, dripping pipes, or running overflow pipes.
- Verify flow meter: With all taps closed, check the BWT Perla display. If it still shows flow, the flow meter may be faulty or there is a hidden leak.
- Adjust leak settings: In the installer menu, review the leak detection thresholds. If set too low for your usage pattern, adjust according to the manual.
- Replace flow meter if needed: If false leak alarms persist with no actual flow, replace the flow meter/turbine sensor assembly.
