Possible Causes
Active leak alarm preventing regeneration, Incorrect service/bypass valve position, Internal software lockout due to repeated errors, Faulty door/cover interlock switch (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure there are no active leaks or overflow conditions before overriding any lockouts.
- Check for other errors: Confirm that no leak or overflow error (e.g., E12) is active. Clear those first.
- Verify valve position: Ensure the BWT bypass/service lever is in the correct Service position. Some models will not regenerate in bypass.
- Inspect interlock switch: If your model has a cover or door switch, ensure the cover is properly closed and the switch is not damaged.
- Controller reset: Perform a full controller reset according to the BWT manual, then reprogram settings.
- Attempt manual regen: After reset, try to start a manual regeneration from the menu.
If E13 persists, the control logic or safety circuitry may be faulty and requires professional service.
