Possible Causes
Stuck salt level float in BWT brine well, Disconnected salt sensor cable, Fouled reed switch or optical sensor, Heavy salt crust preventing float movement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Wear gloves when working inside the brine tank.
- Access brine well: Remove the brine tank lid and pull off the cap of the brine well tube. Carefully lift out the float/sensor assembly.
- Clean float: Rinse the float and stem with warm water to remove salt deposits and sludge. Ensure the float moves freely up and down.
- Check sensor cable: Follow the cable from the float assembly to the control head. Confirm it is plugged in securely and not damaged.
- Remove salt crust: Break up any hard salt crust around the brine well that could restrict float movement. Avoid using metal tools that could puncture the tank.
- Reinstall and test: Reinsert the float assembly, ensuring it is vertical and unobstructed. Restore power and verify that the salt level indication behaves normally.
If E7 persists, the salt level sensor assembly may need replacement.
