E06 error and display may show abnormal time or program values

Safety: Disconnect mains power before opening the electronics compartment.

• Power cycle: Unplug the unit or switch off the fused spur for 5 minutes, then restore power. This can clear transient faults.
• Check supply and earth: Verify the Cillit softener is connected to a stable, properly earthed power source with the correct voltage. Avoid shared circuits with heavy loads that cause spikes.
• Inspect PCB connections: Remove the front cover and visually inspect the main control board. Ensure all ribbon cables and connectors are fully seated. Look for signs of burning, bulging components, or corrosion.
• Factory reset: If the user manual allows, perform a factory reset of the controller and re‑enter hardness, capacity, and time settings.
• Replace PCB: If E06 persists and the board shows physical damage or cannot retain settings, replace the Cillit main control PCB with the exact model‑specific part. This is often best done by an authorized Cillit technician.
