Possible Causes

Incorrect time or day settings, Disabled regeneration program, Faulty real‑time clock on Cillit PCB, Stuck keypad or damaged buttons

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No internal water work is required for basic checks, but disconnect power if removing the control panel.

  • Verify time and date: Check that the current time, day of week, and regeneration time are correctly set on the Cillit controller.
  • Check program mode: Ensure the unit is not set to “OFF”, “VACATION”, or “MANUAL ONLY” mode. Switch to the appropriate metered or time‑clock mode as per the manual.
  • Test keypad: Press each button and confirm that the display responds. If some keys do not work, the keypad membrane or PCB contacts may be faulty.
  • Manual regeneration test: Start a manual regeneration. If this works but automatic cycles never start, the real‑time clock circuit on the Cillit main control PCB may be defective.
  • Replace control board: Persistent E11 with correct programming usually requires replacement of the control board by a qualified technician.
