Water leaks from around the Cillit control valve head or between valve and tank

Safety: Isolate the softener, depressurize the system, and unplug power before disassembly.

• Locate leak: Dry the area and observe where water emerges—around the tank neck, side ports, or top cover.
• Check tightness: Gently tighten the valve mounting nut or clamp ring on the tank, taking care not to overtighten and crack the tank.
• Replace O‑ring: If leaking at the tank neck, remove the valve head, inspect and replace the Cillit valve‑to‑tank O‑ring. Clean sealing surfaces before reassembly.
• Inspect for cracks: If the valve body or tank is cracked, replace the affected component. Do not attempt to repair cracked pressure vessels.
