Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately place the unit in bypass to stop water flow to drain and prevent flooding. Disconnect power before servicing.
Steps:
- Bypass and depressurize: Turn the Clack bypass to bypass position and open a faucet to relieve pressure.
- Inspect drive components: Remove the valve cover and check the drive motor, cam gear, and position switch for damage or disconnection.
- Check piston movement: Attempt to manually advance the cam slightly (with power off). If it will not move, the piston/seal pack may be seized. Remove and inspect the piston and seal/spacer stack and replace if worn or swollen.
- Test motor and board: Restore power briefly and attempt to advance the cycle using the keypad. If the motor does not run or the cycle does not advance, replace the drive motor or control board as indicated by your tests.
- Return to service: After repairs, reassemble, take the unit out of bypass, check for leaks, and run a full regeneration to confirm normal operation.
Warning: Continuous drain flow can significantly increase water bills and may flood drains not sized for constant flow.
