Possible Causes
Failed keypad membrane, Moisture intrusion into display module, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main board, Damaged display module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the front cover.
Steps:
- Inspect keypad and display: Remove the front cover to access the display/keypad module. Look for signs of moisture, condensation, or corrosion on the keypad or display board.
- Check ribbon cable: Ensure the ribbon cable or connector between the keypad/display and the main control board is fully seated and not damaged. Reseat the connector.
- Dry moisture: If moisture is present, gently dry the area with a clean cloth and allow the module to air dry completely before reapplying power. Identify and correct any source of leaks above the valve.
- Test keypad: Restore power and attempt to navigate the menu. If some buttons work and others do not, the keypad membrane is likely failing.
- Replace module: Replace the Clack display/keypad module if unresponsive or water-damaged. If a new module does not restore function, the main control board may also be defective.
Tip: Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the display; spray onto a cloth first to prevent future moisture intrusion.
