Possible Causes
Loose brine line compression nut, Cracked brine line tubing, Damaged brine well cap or grommet, Faulty safety float seals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Place the unit in bypass and unplug before tightening or replacing fittings.
Steps:
- Inspect brine line: Follow the brine line from the Clack valve to the brine tank. Look for cracks, pinholes, or loose fittings. Replace damaged brine tubing.
- Tighten fittings: Gently tighten compression nuts at both ends of the brine line. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- Check brine well cap and grommet: Inspect the brine well cap and any rubber grommets for cracks or hardening. Replace the brine well cap/grommet if they no longer seal.
- Examine safety float: Remove the safety float assembly and inspect O-rings and seals. Replace the safety float assembly if it leaks.
- Test under operation: Restore water and power, run a manual regeneration, and observe the brine system for leaks during fill and draw.
Tip: Salt crystals can prevent proper sealing; clean all mating surfaces before reassembly.
