Possible Causes
Stuck or fouled turbine in Crystal Quest meter housing, Failed Hall-effect flow sensor, Broken or disconnected meter cable, Scale or iron buildup in meter body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Bypass the softener and relieve pressure before opening the meter assembly.
- Check display: Run water at a faucet and observe the flow indicator on the display (if equipped). If it does not change, proceed.
- Inspect meter cable: Ensure the flow sensor cable is firmly connected to the main PCB and not damaged along its length.
- Clean turbine: Remove the meter housing from the control valve inlet or outlet (model dependent). Carefully extract the turbine/impeller and clean off iron, sand, or scale. Ensure it spins freely with a gentle puff of air.
- Test sensor: With the turbine reinstalled, reconnect the sensor and slowly open the bypass while watching the display for flow registration. If still no reading, replace the Crystal Quest flow meter/turbine sensor assembly.
