Possible Causes

Incorrect salt dosage or capacity programming, Oversized injector in Crystal Quest valve, Brine line leak causing continuous draw, Stuck brine valve not closing fully

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and place it in bypass before working on the brine system.

  • Check programming: Verify hardness, capacity, and salt dose settings against the Crystal Quest manual. Reduce salt dose if set excessively high for your resin volume.
  • Inspect brine valve: Remove and inspect the brine valve/check valve assembly. Ensure it closes fully and that the check ball or plunger is not held open by debris.
  • Check for continuous draw: With the unit in service, observe the brine line. There should be no continuous flow. If there is, the valve is leaking internally and must be rebuilt with a Crystal Quest brine valve kit.
  • Verify injector size: Confirm the injector color/size matches the resin tank size per Crystal Quest specifications. Replace with the correct Crystal Quest injector if oversized.
