Possible Causes

Salt bridge in Crystal Quest brine tank, Stuck brine safety float, Misadjusted float level, Faulty salt level sensor (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit. Wear gloves and eye protection when working inside the brine tank.

  • Break salt bridge: Remove the brine tank lid. Using a broom handle or plastic rod, gently push down through the salt to detect a hollow space. If a hard crust sits above water, break it up so salt falls into the water.
  • Inspect float assembly: Remove the brine well cover and lift out the float assembly. Clean any salt sludge or debris. Ensure the float moves freely up and down.
  • Adjust float: Set the float height according to Crystal Quest guidelines so it shuts off refill at the correct level.
  • Sensor check (if present): If your model uses an electronic salt sensor, inspect its wiring and clean any salt buildup. Replace the Crystal Quest salt level sensor if the error persists despite proper salt level and float operation.
