Possible Causes
Disconnected or damaged resin tank sensor cable, Failed conductivity or level probe, Corroded sensor contacts, Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the softener before handling any sensor wiring.
- Locate sensor: Identify the resin tank sensor on the Crystal Quest unit (often mounted on the tank head or side).
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor cable for cuts, abrasions, or loose connectors. Reseat the connector on the main PCB.
- Clean contacts: If the sensor uses exposed metal probes, clean them with a non-abrasive pad and rinse with clean water.
- Replace sensor: If E14 persists, install a new Crystal Quest resin tank sensor. If a new sensor does not clear the error, the main control board sensor input is likely defective and should be replaced.
