Possible Causes
Damaged tank O-ring under Crystal Quest control head, Cracked mineral tank neck, Loose valve mounting, Split valve body from freezing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Bypass the softener, close inlet, and relieve pressure. Unplug the unit. Have towels or a pan ready for residual water.
- Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water emerges: at the tank neck, side of valve, or fittings.
- Tighten head: If leaking at the tank neck, gently tighten the control head by hand. Do not overtighten.
- Replace O-ring: Remove the control head and inspect the large tank O-ring. Replace with a new Crystal Quest tank O-ring lubricated with silicone grease.
- Check for cracks: Inspect the tank neck and valve body for hairline cracks. If cracked, replace the Crystal Quest mineral tank or control valve as appropriate.
