Low Salt Level Detected
Display shows “Lo Salt” or “Low Salt” warning

Possible Causes
Salt level below sensor, Salt bridge giving false low reading, Misadjusted salt level sensor, Faulty salt sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical or pressurized work is required for basic checks.
- Check actual salt level: Open the brine tank and visually confirm the salt level. If low, add the appropriate Culligan-approved water softener salt.
- Break salt bridges: If the top appears full but there is a hollow space underneath, gently push a broom handle down through the salt to break the bridge.
- Adjust sensor height: If your Culligan model has an adjustable salt level float or sensor, confirm it is set to the correct height per the manual.
- Clear the warning: Some models require acknowledging the Lo Salt message via the keypad. If the warning persists with adequate salt and a free-moving float, the sensor may be faulty.
