Possible Causes

Regeneration disabled in programming, Incorrect time-of-day, Flow meter not counting usage, Control board logic fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No plumbing work is required for basic checks; you will be working only with the control panel.

  • Check time and day: Ensure the time-of-day and day-of-week are set correctly on the Culligan control.
  • Verify regen mode: Enter the programming menu and confirm that automatic regeneration is enabled (metered or time clock mode) and that the capacity and hardness are set correctly.
  • Check flow meter operation: Run water and confirm that the display shows flow and usage. If not, troubleshoot the flow meter.
  • Manual regeneration test: Start a manual regeneration. If the unit regenerates manually but never automatically, the scheduling or meter input is at fault.
