Possible Causes

Seized drive motor, Broken cam gear, Jammed piston, Control board not advancing cycle

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Immediately place the unit in bypass to stop water waste, then disconnect power.

  • Inspect drive assembly: Remove the control cover and observe the motor and cam. Look for broken gears or a motor that is not turning.
  • Manually index valve (if possible): Some Culligan valves allow manual rotation of the cam to move the valve back to service. Do this only with water off and pressure relieved.
  • Check for piston binding: Remove the piston/seal pack and inspect for debris or damage. Clean and lubricate as needed.

If the valve will not return to service or immediately re-enters regeneration, the motor or control board likely needs replacement.
