Possible Causes

NTC temperature sensor open or shorted, Sensor dislodged from valve body, Wiring harness damage, Control board analog input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

  • Check ambient conditions: Ensure the Ecowater softener is installed within the recommended temperature range (typically 4–49°C). Extreme cold or heat can trigger protection.
  • Locate sensor: Find the NTC temperature sensor on the valve body or manifold. Verify it is firmly seated in its well or clip.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor leads to the control board. Look for cuts, abrasions, or loose connectors. Reseat the plug.
  • Measure resistance: With power off, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Ecowater specifications at room temperature. An open or near-zero reading indicates a failed sensor.
  • Replace sensor if needed: Install a compatible Ecowater temperature sensor and clear the error by power-cycling the unit.
