Possible Causes
Flow sensor misreading due to electrical noise, Small leak downstream of softener, Dripping tap or toilet causing constant low flow, Control board leak detection circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure you know the location of the main shutoff valve before testing for leaks.
- Confirm no usage: Turn off all water-using appliances and taps. Check the Ecowater display for flow indication. If flow is shown, proceed to leak checks.
- Check for visible leaks: Inspect all downstream plumbing, toilets, and taps for drips. Repair any leaks found.
- Isolate softener: Put the Ecowater bypass into bypass mode. If the leak alarm stops, the leak is in the house plumbing. If it continues, suspect a sensor or control issue.
- Inspect flow sensor: Check the turbine and sensor wiring as described for Err 04. Electrical noise or a failing sensor can simulate low flow.
- Reprogram leak threshold: Some models allow adjusting leak detection sensitivity. Set according to the manual to avoid nuisance alarms.
