Possible Causes
Brine safety float stuck in down position, Brine valve not closing fully, Drain line restriction causing backpressure, Incorrect brine refill time setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and avoid electrical components if water has overflowed onto the floor. Clean up spills to prevent slipping.
- Check brine level: Open the brine tank and inspect the water level. If excessively high, close the inlet water supply.
- Inspect safety float: Locate the brine safety float assembly in the brine well. Ensure it moves freely up and down and is not jammed by salt or debris.
- Check drain line: Verify the drain hose is not kinked, blocked, or submerged in standing water. A blocked drain can cause brine to back up.
- Test brine valve: During a manual regeneration, observe whether water continues to enter the brine tank after the refill step should have ended. If so, the brine valve is leaking and must be serviced or replaced.
- Adjust refill time: Confirm the programmed brine refill time matches the Ecowater specification for your model.
