Display shows “Err 16” and unit indicates drain line flow error during backwash or fast rinse

Safety: Do not run regeneration with a blocked drain; water may overflow.

• Inspect drain hose: Follow the Ecowater drain hose from the valve head to the drain point. Straighten any kinks and ensure the hose is not crushed.
• Check air gap/standpipe: Remove any buildup or obstructions in the air gap fitting or standpipe. Ensure the hose is not inserted too far into the drain, which can cause siphoning or blockage.
• Clean flow restrictor: Some models use a drain flow control insert. Remove and clean this restrictor to restore proper flow.
• Test valve operation: Start a manual regeneration and observe the drain flow. If flow is weak despite a clear hose, the internal valve seals or piston may be worn or fouled and require service.
