Possible Causes
Aging or overloaded transformer, Drive motor stalled, Vibrating valve components, Loose mounting screws
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before touching internal components.
- Identify source: Listen closely to determine if the noise comes from the external transformer, drive motor, or valve body.
- Check for regeneration: If the unit is mid-regeneration, some motor noise is normal. If the noise persists in standby, suspect a fault.
- Tighten mounts: Tighten any loose screws on the valve head and mounting bracket to reduce vibration.
- Inspect motor: If the motor hums but the cam does not turn, the motor may be stalled. Check for mechanical jams and replace the motor if necessary.
- Replace transformer: If the external power supply buzzes loudly or becomes very hot, replace it with the correct Ecowater adapter.
