How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Bypass the softener to restore water service before working on it.
- Check display: Note which regeneration step is shown. If the same step remains for hours, the cycle is stalled.
- Listen for motor: If the motor is silent, test and replace as described under motor faults.
- Manually advance: Some Ecowater models allow manual step advance via the keypad. Attempt to advance to the next step and then to service.
- Inspect cam and gears: Remove the valve cover and check for broken gears or obstructions preventing rotation.
- Board replacement: If mechanics are fine but the board will not advance the cycle, replace the control board.
