Possible Causes
Damaged tank O-ring, Cracked valve head, Over-tightened or cross-threaded tank adapter, Thermal or pressure stress
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the softener using the bypass and relieve pressure before loosening any fittings.
- Locate leak: Dry the area and observe where water emerges—around the tank neck, valve head, or fittings.
- Check tank-to-valve connection: Gently tighten the valve head onto the tank if loose. Do not overtighten.
- Inspect O-ring: If leaking persists, remove the valve head and inspect the large tank O-ring for cuts or flattening. Replace if damaged and lubricate lightly with silicone grease.
- Check for cracks: Examine the Ecowater valve body for hairline cracks. Replace the valve head if cracked.
