Possible Causes
Failed keypad membrane, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Damaged display board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel.
Steps to correct:
- 1. Inspect keypad surface: Check for cracks, warping, or signs of water or salt residue on the keypad. If the panel is swollen or delaminated, it likely needs replacement.
- 2. Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the front panel and locate the flat ribbon cable connecting the keypad/display to the main board. Gently unplug and reinsert it, ensuring it is fully seated and straight.
- 3. Dry moisture: If condensation or a minor leak has dampened the panel, allow it to dry completely. Correct any source of leaks (e.g., loose plumbing above the unit).
- 4. Test button response: Plug the unit back in and test each button. If some or all buttons remain unresponsive, replace the EcoWater keypad/display assembly.
