Possible Causes
Incorrect hardness setting, Wrong capacity or reserve programmed, Mis-set time of day, Day override set too low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work is required for this fault. You may leave the unit plugged in.
Steps to correct:
- 1. Verify time of day: Check that the displayed time matches actual time. Adjust for AM/PM if applicable so regeneration occurs at the intended off-peak hour.
- 2. Confirm hardness: Using your water test results or EcoWater dealer data, set the correct hardness (including iron compensation if required). Overstated hardness will cause too-frequent regenerations.
- 3. Check capacity and reserve: Ensure the programmed capacity matches the resin tank size and salt setting. If reserve is set too high, the unit may regenerate prematurely.
- 4. Review day override: If a day override is enabled, confirm it is appropriate for your usage. Increase the override days if the unit regenerates too often.
- 5. Save and monitor: Save all settings and monitor regeneration behavior over several days. Adjust as needed based on actual water usage.
