Possible Causes
Stuck salt level float, Disconnected salt sensor wiring, Failed salt level sensor, Heavy salt bridging around sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working inside the brine tank. Wear gloves to protect your hands from sharp salt crystals.
Steps to correct:
- 1. Verify actual salt level: Remove the brine tank lid and visually confirm that salt is above the minimum recommended level.
- 2. Break salt bridges: Use a broom handle or plastic rod to gently push down through the salt. If you feel a hollow space under a hard crust, you have a salt bridge. Carefully break it up so salt falls to the bottom.
- 3. Inspect salt level float/sensor: Locate the EcoWater salt level float or sensor assembly (often integrated with the brine well). Ensure it moves freely up and down and is not buried or jammed in hardened salt.
- 4. Check wiring: Trace the sensor wires from the brine tank to the control head. Ensure connectors are fully seated and not corroded.
- 5. Replace sensor if needed: If the float is damaged or the sensor tests open/shorted, replace the EcoWater salt level sensor assembly.
