Possible Causes

Hardness set too high, Capacity set too low, Reserve capacity too large, Flow meter miscounting usage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No need to open the valve or tank. All adjustments are via the control panel.

Steps to correct:

  • 1. Confirm actual hardness: Test raw water hardness and compare to the programmed value. Reduce the setting if it is higher than actual (accounting for iron if present).
  • 2. Check capacity and reserve: Ensure the programmed capacity matches the EcoWater resin tank size. Reduce reserve gallons if set excessively high.
  • 3. Observe meter readings: Compare the unit’s recorded daily usage to your actual estimated usage. If the meter shows much higher usage, clean or replace the turbine/flow sensor.
  • 4. Monitor after changes: Track regeneration frequency over several weeks and fine-tune settings as needed.
